BDO PvP tier list 2026: node war and siege only, ranked by siege role
This is a BDO PvP tier list for node war and siege only. Not arena. Not 1v1. Not small-scale skirmish in Valencia. If you want a tier list that tells you which class wins the most duels, this is the wrong page.
You get a class ranking by siege role (mainball, flex, cannon team, elephant rider, shai, defense), built from how NA and EU guilds field rosters in 2026 wars, with the gear floor and class fit for each tier.
Most BDO PvP tier lists collapse every game mode into one ranking. Node war is its own thing. A class that's S-tier in 1v1 (looking at you, Hashashin) is mid-tier in a 50-person ball because individual outplay does not scale when the whole enemy team is on top of you. A class that's mediocre 1v1 (Wizard, Witch) becomes S-tier when there are 20 stacked targets in front of you for AOE to land on.
How this BDO node war tier list is built
The data: pulled from CoGM-tracked NA and EU node wars and sieges through 2026, plus what guilds we work with run as their first-pick comps. We classify every kill event by the killer's siege role, not just their class, which is the part most BDO tier lists skip.
The criteria per role:
- Tier S: first-pick. If you have one, slot them.
- Tier A: strong, no concerns. Brings something specific.
- Tier B: workable. Will not lose you the war but will not carry it.
- Tier C: only if your roster is thin or the player is exceptional.
- Tier D: wrong role, find another slot.
A class can be S-tier in mainball and D-tier in defense. That is not a contradiction. It is the whole point.
A note on patches: this BDO PvP tier list reflects the live state of the game after the early-2026 succession passes. Tier lists move when Pearl Abyss patches AP brackets, awakening damage, or class CC chains. Re-check the date on any tier list you are reading.
Mainball tier list
Mainball is the kill-pressure core. It stacks on the shotcaller, dives, and generates most of your war's kills. Gear floor is the highest in the war. T1 mainball needs T1-cap gear. Capped wars need 290+ AP with everything sharp.
Tier S (first-pick mainball) - Sorceress (Awakening): top burst, top mobility, scales in stacked fights - Wizard (Awakening): AOE CC and damage, defines the meta when stacked - Witch (Awakening): same family as Wizard with more sustain - Drakania (Awakening): high-impact AOE, hard CC chain - Striker (Awakening): burst windows are hard to react to in a ball
Tier A - Sage: protection skills and AOE - Scholar: area denial, CC density - Guardian: durable bruiser, holds a flank when mainball needs an anchor - Maegu: front-line damage, scales with stack size - Nova (Awakening): heavy CC, area lockdown
Tier B - Berserker (Awakening): functional, but tier A picks bring more for the same gear cost - Musa (Succession): works if the player is good - Lahn: edge mainball, lacks stacked-fight presence
Tier C - Ranger: gets eaten in a ball - Mystic: usable, outperformed by tier A and tier B picks - Maehwa (Succession): better as flex
Tier D in mainball (do not slot) - Hashashin: flex pick, not mainball - Ninja, Kunoichi: assassins, not mainball - Archer: too fragile in stack - Corsair: situational - Dosa: flex or solo
Flex tier list
Flex is your secondary DPS that responds to whatever the war needs. Sometimes rotating into mainball, sometimes chasing a small skirmish, sometimes holding a flank.
Tier S - Hashashin: picks fights and disengages, which is what flex is for - Ninja: same family of tools - Kunoichi: same as Ninja - Maehwa (Succession): fast, hits hard, peels easily
Tier A - Lahn: high mobility, collapses in or roams - Musa: opportunistic pick, kills isolated targets - Dosa: flexible kit - Wukong: fits flex naturally - Drakania (Succession): works as flex when mainball already has the awakening version
Tier B - Nova (Succession): does the job - Berserker (Succession): engages well, peels poorly - Striker (Succession): flex-tier without the awakening burst
Tier C - Ranger: exists, not preferred - Archer: better at range, struggles in collapse - Corsair: situational
Tier D in flex (do not slot) - Wizard, Witch: mainball, not flex - Shai: own role - Valkyrie, Warrior: defense, not flex
Cannon team
Cannon work is the least class-dependent role in the war. A player who can sit on a fort cannon for an hour without ditching to chase a kill is tier S regardless of class. Personality matters more than spec.
Classes with utility off the cannon (instant CC, escape, healing) help when cannon team gets ambushed. Pick players who will not get bored, then pick from whatever they main.
Class is mostly irrelevant. Pick the player. Do not put your highest-AP mainball pick on cannons. You are wasting their gear.
Elephant rider
Same as cannon team: the player matters more than the class. The elephant's stats matter more than the rider's gear.
What to look for in the player: awareness, positioning, willingness to disengage. A great Wizard player who panics on the elephant is worse than an average Berserker player who knows when to peel.
One note: classes with escape tools off the elephant (Striker iframe, Ninja smoke, Hashashin teleport) reduce the cost of losing the elephant and the rider in one fight. Bonus, not a hard requirement.
Shai
Shai tier list is short. There is only one viable shai for siege.
Tier S: Awakening Shai (florang). Buffs and survivability. Drops Time-Elixir, Lebyos, and stat buffs on the ball. Tier B: Succession Shai. Usable for damage when you have the slot, but you give up the buff utility. Most guilds do not run succession shai in node war.
If you have one shai, run awakening. If you have two, the second is a flex slot, not a second shai.
Defense
Defense holds your fort. Stops enemy pushes, picks off stragglers, calls out threats. Different gear priority than mainball: accuracy and DP carry your survivability when you are 1v3 waiting for help.
Tier S - Valkyrie: the canonical defense pick, tanky with hard CC - Warrior: durable, sustains 1v2 long enough for backup
Tier A - Berserker (Succession): sustained fight presence - Guardian: works on defense or mainball - Sage: bulky, usable defender
Tier B - Mystic: solid in 1v1 holds, weaker against stacked pushes - Nova (Awakening): viable, better in mainball - Striker (Succession): works, gets pulled to mainball
Tier C - Squishy DPS classes. A sorc on defense is a wasted sorc.
Tier D - Ranged glass cannons. They fold the second a small group gets close.
Region differences
This tier list is built on NA and EU war data. Class meta tracks across both because Pearl Abyss patches the same client. Where regions diverge:
- EU runs higher AP averages in T1 wars. Mainball gear floor sits 5-10 AP above NA. Class picks are the same.
- NA has a deeper bench of awakening sorceress mains. EU runs more drakania and sage. The S tier is the same; the population is different.
- SEA is fragmented. Class meta tracks NA and EU, but guild comps vary more guild-to-guild. T2 and T3 wars in SEA run lighter mainballs than NA or EU.
- KR (Korea) leads global meta by 4-8 weeks after class patches. To preview the next NA or EU meta, watch Korean siege VODs.
Tier rankings hold across regions. The gear floor per tier shifts by region.
Common mistakes when using a BDO tier list
Treating the tier list as a hard rule. A B-tier mainball played by a great player beats an S-tier mainball played by someone who got the class three weeks ago. Tier lists are a starting point for roster construction, not a substitute for knowing your players.
Forcing role on the wrong player. If your best player mains Hashashin, do not slot them in mainball because the tier list says sorc is S. Slot them flex and let them carry the flex slot.
Ignoring the gear floor. A tier S mainball pick at 270 AP in a 290 AP cap war is a tier D mainball. Gear and class are coupled.
Picking by 1v1 highlight reels. Most BDO tier list videos rank classes by arena or 1v1 performance and label it "PvP tier list." Node war is not 1v1. Class strength in node war comes from how the class scales in stacked AOE fights, not from how it duels.
Re-reading old tier lists. This BDO PvP tier list is current as of the date at the top of this article. When Pearl Abyss patches AP brackets, awakening damage modifiers, or CC chains, tier lists shift. Check the date.
How CoGM tracks this for your guild
CoGM builds tier lists per siege role rather than per class only because every PvP log uploaded tags each kill with the killer's class and the siege role they were running. After 4-6 wars of data, you stop arguing about class meta and start looking at which of your players perform in their assigned role.
What that gets you in officer view: - K/D per class within your guild, filtered to the siege role they were running. - Performance outliers: the sorc who is supposed to be S-tier mainball but underperforms every war. - Class composition of your wins versus your losses.
This is the data that lets you stop running roster comps based on a generic tier list and start running comps based on what works for the specific players you have.
