Monsters & Memories Release Date, Price and Servers

Monsters & Memories launched into Early Access on October 1, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Bahrain time (2:00 a.m. Eastern, or 11:00 p.m. Pacific on September 30). The developers call Early Access the commercial launch, so October 1 is the release date. Version 1.0 has no date. You pay $15 USD a month, pick one of six servers and can level to 60.

Early Access has been live since October 1, 2026

Monsters & Memories is playable now. Anyone with a subscription can log in, play on the live servers and level to the cap of 60.

The developer, Niche Worlds Cult, calls Early Access the initial launch of the game, not a head start. The launch build includes the first content module, Descent into the Deep.

There is no 1.0 date yet, and the official roadmap page is due for a rework. We cover both below.

The Closed Beta ended on September 24, 2026. New testers got in through a weekly Beta lottery, and the team announced open playtests for December 27 to 29, 2025 and May 29 to June 7, 2026. If you came here for a beta sign up, the way in today is an Early Access subscription.

What Early Access means for your characters

  • No wipe. The developers say they will not wipe or reset the Early Access servers. Your characters carry on when Early Access ends.
  • Fresh servers later. Players who would rather wait for a fuller game will get fresh servers where everyone starts even. The developers plan to open them alongside major content releases or other milestones, and say they may one day merge with the original servers. They have not given a date.
  • Up to 25 characters per server. That is the limit at launch. During the pre-launch billing window it was 5.
  • Your choices stick. Name, race and server changes are not for sale. Pick with care, and agree on a server with your group before anyone makes a character.

Servers and rulesets

Early Access opened with six servers. Five are PvE and one is PvP. Only one allows boxing.

ServerRegionRulesetBoxing
Estaire, God of TimeUS WestPvENo
Trem, God of CommerceUS EastPvENo
Tilustra, Goddess of KnowledgeUS East (second East server)PvENo
Kravvin, God of SlaughterUSPvPNo
Nunavoth, God of GluttonyUSPvEUp to 3 boxed characters
Vespyra, Goddess of MagicEUPvENo

Boxing means playing more than one character at the same time. You can do it only on Nunavoth. Each boxed character needs its own account and its own subscription, so a 3-box setup costs three subscriptions. Automation counts as cheating.

On Kravvin, PvP starts at level 4, per the Early Access patch notes of September 19, 2026.

A roleplay server was planned, but the developers took it off the list for now.

What Module 1 adds

Module 1, Descent into the Deep, is part of the Early Access launch build. It opens the Deep: an underground world of dark rivers and glowing seas that runs beneath all of Eth-ur.

The Deep zones at launch:

  • Underdocks, a rough harbor quarter deep under Night Harbor that links the surface to the Deep
  • Caves of Irem
  • Great Cavern Sea
  • Rothold, the ruins of Roothold Keep
  • Blind Midden, a dungeon that took the slot first planned for a zone called Fields of the Lost
  • Ail'vorith, the Deep Elf capital

With Module 1 in the build, the launch game has:

  • Four starting locations. Your race, faith and class decide which ones you can pick.
  • Nine playable races, including the two Module 1 adds, Deep Elves and Deep Gnomes. See our races guide.
  • All 18 classes, playable from day one. See our classes guide.
  • 28 zones in all, counting outdoor zones, dungeons and mini-dungeons. They cover the desert of Szuur, the green lands of Calafrey to the north, and the Deep. See our map and zones guide.
  • A level cap of 60. Our leveling guide covers how to get there.
Starting cityWhere it isWho can start there
Night HarborPort city on the west coast of Aêthoril, in SzuurCharacters whose race, faith and class add up to good or neutral
UnderdocksThe Deep, under Night HarborSome neutral and some evil characters
FaelindralThe city in the trees of Evershade Weald, in CalafreyAn option for Wood Elves and Halflings
Ail'vorithThe Deep, beneath eastern CalafreyA range of evil characters

The developers say some starting locations will change on the way to 1.0.

PC requirements and download

Monsters & Memories is PC only. It is not on Steam, and the developers have no current plans to put it there. You download the client through the official launcher.

The official FAQ lists these recommended system requirements:

PartRecommended
Operating systemWindows 10 21H1 or later
Memory16 GB RAM
ProcessorA fairly modern CPU (no model named)
GraphicsNVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB or equivalent

The game is built in Unity. Its low-poly art is inspired by MMORPGs from the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Population at launch

We have two counts, and they come from two different sources. Read each one on its own, not as a trend line.

  • September 29, 2026: a developer update reported 9,411 subscribers.
  • October 2, 2026, about 23:50 UTC: the official server metrics page showed 19,847 active subscriptions and 6,436 players online.

Players online per server at that moment:

ServerOnline (Oct 2, 2026, about 23:50 UTC)
Trem2,227
Estaire1,586
Tilustra1,376
Kravvin479
Vespyra403
Nunavoth365

The three US PvE servers without boxing held about four in five of the players online. That reading came in the early evening on the US East Coast and close to 2 a.m. in central Europe. It tells you little about Vespyra at European peak time.

For live server population, check the official server metrics page. It shows active subscriptions, players online per server and the population of each starting zone. For problems, the official Community Hub keeps a known issues list.

What comes after Early Access

  • Modules are free content updates. The developers expect a new one about every six months.
  • Module 2 has no details yet. The developers have only said to watch for news.
  • 1.0 has no date. The developers first want all of the racial cities in the game, each with finished regions around it.
  • More races are planned: Deep Dwarves, High Elves, Trolls and, later on, Var'nai. None of them is playable yet.
  • The roadmap page is changing. On October 2, 2026, the team said it plans to rework the roadmap page in a new format now that Early Access is live.
  • A new trait system is coming. The developers previewed it on September 29, 2026, and say it is not in the game yet. You will get to pick your traits again when it goes live.

Get your guild ready for launch week

A few game rules shape how a guild should start. These steps help everyone land on the same server and find each other.

Settle the server first. Server changes are not for sale. Agree on PvE or PvP before the first character is made, and pick Nunavoth if anyone plans to box.

Plan a meeting point. Members can start in different cities, depending on race, faith and class. For example, the community wiki's start table (edited September 29, 2026) gives Deep Elves and Wood Elves no starting city in common. Night Harbor itself has an East half and a West half, and both halves use the same chat.

Set up the in-game guild. According to the community wiki, a Guild Registrar NPC in Night Harbor creates guilds. A 2025 developer update, from before launch, put the guild name limit at 24 characters. Shift+G opens the guild window, /gu is guild chat and /of is officer chat. Since the release patch, the guild view shows each member's last-online date.

Run recruitment and events with CoGM. These work for Monsters & Memories today:

  • Applications, free on every plan. The Monsters & Memories form asks each recruit for character name, race (the nine launch races), class (only the classes that race allows), level and server. See recruitment forms.
  • Camp and Dungeon events. Both presets open 6 seats: 1 tank, 1 healer, 1 support and 3 DPS by default. A Named target event has no seat cap, so signups stay open.
  • A 14-day Pro trial. It starts on its own when you create your first Monsters & Memories guild, and you don't need a card. Pro adds DKP with scheduled decay, the party builder and Looking for Group. Read our guild DKP and loot guide before you pick a loot system.

The free plan covers 30 members per guild. Pro is $10 a month per guild with no member cap. There's more on the Monsters & Memories page.
