Monsters & Memories Guild Guide: DKP, Loot and Camps
To run a Monsters & Memories guild, you create it in game, plan your nights around camps and open-world named targets, and settle your loot rules before the first named drops. If you choose DKP, CoGM keeps the ledger, decays points on a schedule you set and runs sealed or open loot auctions in your Discord. This guide covers each step, from the Guild Registrar to your first bidding round.

How guilds work in Monsters & Memories
Pick your server first. Six servers opened for Early Access: Estaire (US West PvE), Trem and Tilustra (US East PvE), Kravvin (US PvP), Nunavoth (US PvE, 3-box) and Vespyra (EU PvE). Our Early Access guide covers the price and each server's rules.
The community wiki places the Guild Registrar, the NPC who creates guilds, in Night Harbor. Once your guild exists, these are the tools you will use most:
| Task | How |
|---|---|
| Name the guild | Up to 24 characters |
| Open the guild window | Shift+G |
| Talk to the whole guild | /gu |
| Talk to officers only | /of |
| Spot inactive members | The guild view shows each member's last-online date |
| See who is on | /who can filter by guild |
| Close the guild | /guilddisband |
Guild houses existed in beta. You could convert a regular house into a guild house, and in beta one guild could own only one. Turning a property into a guild hall cost 1 platinum plus upkeep. A late beta patch raised the limit to 10 guild properties, one per zone, and marked that change as beta-only. We have not seen confirmed limits for the live servers, so check in game before you budget for a hall.
What your guild will run
Monsters & Memories is built for groups. The developers tune content for groups of 2 or 3 to 6 players and call the game group-focused. Most guild nights fall into three kinds.
- Camps. A group holds a spot in a shared zone and pulls monsters to it. The official new player guide lists the vocabulary you will hear: camp, pull, inc, train, PH (placeholder), named, pop, mez and lull.
- Dungeons. Dungeons are open world. There is no instancing, and the developers say they have no plans to add it. Another group may already hold the camp you wanted. The developers say GMs handle contested spawns directly, and the Play Nice Policy is enforced.
- Named targets and world events. Multi-group content comes as world events and open-world targets. The developers are not building raid progression as the main endgame. A raid night means several of your groups taking one target together.
When you build a camp group, mind the experience range. Until level 15, members must be within 5 levels of the highest member. After that, they need to be at least two thirds of that member's level. The group shares experience, coin and corpse access.
The community wiki lists these among the bigger open-world targets. Treat its levels and timers as player-reported.
| Target | Zone | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lord Ga'Duuz | Glass Flats | Wiki: dragon, level 62, respawns about every 3 days, give or take 4 hours. Official patch notes say he has world rewards. |
| Guillome the Accursed | Glass Flats | Wiki: level 60 |
| Guardian of the Life Font | Tel Ekir | Wiki: level 45 |
| Pustulax the Avatar of Plagues | Fallen Pass | The developers tuned this fight in the September 19, 2026 Early Access patch |
| High Master Farwyn Nyxx | Fallen Pass | Wiki: needs a key |
| Skyseer Illya | Ancient Crypt | Wiki: level 25 |
There is no in-game map. Our map and zones guide explains where these zones sit.
One patch changes how fast you need to call loot. Since the September 30, 2026 release patch, NPC corpses above level 60 last 28 minutes, up from 8. That is enough time for a short bidding round, so agree on your rules before the pull.
Pick a loot system before the first named drops
Most guilds use one of three systems. Choose one and post it where every member can read it.
| System | How it works | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Rolls | Everyone who wants the item rolls with /random, and the highest roll wins. The command takes dice such as 3d6 or a range such as 1-18. | Pickup groups and small guilds that want no bookkeeping |
| Loot council | Officers decide who gets each item, based on need, effort or the guild's plans. | Small, settled guilds that trust their officers |
| DKP | Members earn points by showing up and spend them on drops. | Guilds that want attendance to count and a record of who got what |
Check the item before you call it. The official guide names four item flags: No Drop, No Rent, Unique and Lore. Lore items are unique-equip, so ask whether the winner already wears one. Everyone in the group can open the corpse, so agree who loots before anyone clicks. When you can't be sure a flagged item can change hands after looting, have the winner loot it.
The game's creative lead was a lead designer on EverQuest, and officers who kept DKP in an EverQuest guild will know the model. If you are new to it, start with What is DKP. Then read Loot council vs DKP for the trade-offs.
Set up DKP on CoGM
DKP on CoGM is part of Pro. On the Free plan the ledger is read-only, and attendance and quests pay 0 DKP. The first Monsters & Memories guild you create in a community starts a 14-day Pro trial, so you can set it all up before you decide.
On Pro, members earn DKP from attendance and from quests. They spend it in loot auctions, covered in the next section.
Decay takes a percentage off each balance on a schedule, so a member who joined last month can still compete with a founder. You set it once:
- How often: daily, weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly
- When: a day of the week or month, an hour and your time zone
- How much: a percentage of each balance, and a floor that no balance drops below
- How it applies: each period applies once, and CoGM does not replay a missed period later
After each run, CoGM posts a summary to the Discord channel you pick for it. Officers can also run decay by hand, and undo a run made by mistake.
The DKP tracker page shows the full feature.
Run loot auctions in Discord
CoGM's /auction is a Discord command. The in-game /auction is something else: a zone-wide trade channel. Use the Discord one for guild loot and DKP bidding.
Officers start an auction, or a round of up to 5 items, with /auction start. You choose:
- open or sealed bidding
- how long it runs, as a length or an end time
- a minimum bid and a step, the smallest raise allowed
- a buyout price, on open auctions only
- anti-snipe, where late bids push the end back
- a scheduled start
- a note, a link to the event the drop came from, and a name to save these settings as a preset
For a big night, /auction bulk starts up to 25 items at once. It opens a form where you type the items one per line, with "2x" before a name when two copies dropped.
Members run /auction status to see their balance, how much their open bids hold and what they have left to spend. Ask members to check it before they bid.
When a round ends, officers have a command for each case that comes up:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| /auction award | Gives an unsold item to a member, with a reason and an optional DKP price |
| /auction rolloff | Runs a recorded roll for an item, with optional MS and OS buttons where main spec beats off spec |
| /auction relist | Runs an unsold item again as a new auction |
| /auction reverse | Undoes a sale |
| /auction handover | Lists sold items still waiting to be handed over |
New M&M guilds start with these defaults. You can change them.
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| Format | Quick sealed round |
| Minimum bid | 1 |
| Step | 1 |
| Price | The winner pays their own bid |
| Ties | Broken by attendance |
You also get four presets: a quick sealed round of 2 minutes, a quick open round, a 24-hour sealed auction and a 24-hour open auction that allows max bids. A 2-minute sealed round fits inside the 28-minute corpse timer on targets above level 60.
Loot auctions are part of Pro. The loot auctions page has the details.
Schedule camps, dungeons and named targets
CoGM's event form has three Monsters & Memories presets. Each one fills in the title, the signup limit and the role seats.
| Preset | Signups |
|---|---|
| Camp | 6 seats |
| Dungeon | 6 seats |
| Named target | Open, with no cap |
The default seats are 1 tank, 1 healer, 1 support and 3 DPS. Change them for each event, for example when a camp needs a second healer.
The same three presets are starter templates for attendance. Each starter pays 0 DKP until an officer sets a reward on it. On Pro, attendance then pays DKP, and it also breaks tied bids.
In Discord, members check upcoming events with /events and request leave with /absence. Officers record attendance from a voice channel with /attendance. See the event scheduler and the attendance tracker for how each works.
Recruit with applications
Applications are free on every plan. The Monsters & Memories form asks for:
- character name
- race, from the nine races playable in Early Access
- class, limited to the classes that race allows
- level
- server
- when they usually play, with their time zone
Applicants send it with /apply in your Discord. More on the recruitment forms page.

New Monsters & Memories guilds get a 14-day Pro trial when you create them, once per community for each game. No card needed. The pricing page has the full list.
Your first-week checklist
- Create the guild in game. Pick your server, find the Guild Registrar in Night Harbor and choose a name of 24 characters or fewer.
- Create the guild on CoGM. Follow the M&M setup guide. Your 14-day Pro trial starts on its own.
- Post the application. Point recruits to /apply and review what comes in.
- Write your loot rules. Decide what a camp, a dungeon and a named target pay in DKP, set that reward on each attendance template, then set a decay schedule.
- Run your first camp. Use the Camp preset, fill the six seats and take attendance.
- Hold your first sealed round. When the first named drops, post it with /auction start as a quick sealed round. Ask members to check /auction status before they bid.
The Monsters & Memories docs have more on each feature.
FAQ
Is DKP free on CoGM?
No. DKP is part of Pro, which costs $10 a month per guild. On Free the ledger is read-only and awards pay 0 DKP. The first Monsters & Memories guild you create in a community starts a 14-day Pro trial, with no card needed.
Does decay run on its own?
Yes, once you set a schedule: daily, weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly, at the day, hour and time zone you pick. Each period applies once, and a summary posts to the channel you pick for it. Officers can also run decay by hand and undo it.
How do members see their DKP?
In Discord, /dkp balance shows a member's balance, /dkp standings lists the guild and /dkp history shows recent changes. Before a bid, /auction status shows the balance, how much is held in open bids and how much is left to spend.
How are tied sealed bids decided?
New Monsters & Memories guilds break ties by attendance by default. The winner pays their own bid.
Does Monsters & Memories have raids?
Yes, as world events and open-world targets. The developers focus on single groups and are not building raid progression as the main endgame, so a guild raid means several groups taking one named target together.
