Monsters & Memories Healers: Cleric, Druid and Shaman
Monsters & Memories has three main healers. The developers treat the Cleric as the standard every other healer is measured against, and it fights in heavy armor with a shield. The Druid heals, deals strong direct damage and can teleport to set places. The Shaman heals over time, slows enemies and has the best physical buffs of any class. Paladins can also heal in an emergency.

The three healers at a glance
| Cleric | Druid | Shaman | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Armor | Heavy armor and shield | Leather (community wiki) | Chain (community wiki) |
| Early Access races | Deep Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Halfling, Human | Deep Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Human, Wood Elf | Deep Gnome, Goblin, Human, Ogre, Wood Elf |
| Healing style | Group, cone, delayed and absorb heals | Heals boosted by Summer and Autumn | Heal over time plus mending spells |
| Signature tools | Divine Aegis, Redemption, off-tanking | Seasons, teleports, soloing | The slow, Tribal Spirit, Pact of Haste |
The Paladin also heals. The developers describe it as an emergency healer whose heals cast fast and cost a lot of mana. It has Healing Touch, Lay on Hands and resurrections from level 16. A Paladin tanks with plate and shield or deals damage with a two-handed weapon, so we cover it in our tank classes guide.
Cleric: the heavy-armor healer
The Cleric is the healer the developers measure the others against. It wears heavy armor, carries a shield and can off-tank. Every Cleric starts with the Blessed trait, which brings occasional divine help.
| Type | Cleric spells |
|---|---|
| Heals | Heal, Circle of Healing (group, on a cooldown), Healing Light (cone), Promise of Mending (delayed), Blessed Barrier (absorb) |
| Defense | Divine Aegis (15 seconds of damage immunity), Inhibit Pain |
| Buffs | Holy Fortitude, Blessing of Devotion, Prayer of the Faithful (self-buff that grants Block) |
| Damage | Rebuke, Smite the Dead (undead only), Holy Strike (melee, from level 1) |
| Utility | Redemption resurrection line, Pacify (single target) |
The release patch on September 30, 2026 added Blessing of Smiting and Hymn of Smiting at level 4. The Redemption line matters because stronger resurrections give back some of the experience a player lost on death.
Druid seasons and travel
The Druid is a primary healer that also deals strong direct damage, and the developers call it one of the strongest solo classes. See our best solo class guide if you plan to level alone.
A Druid moves through four seasons, and the season shifts with what you cast:
| Season | Bonus |
|---|---|
| Summer | +20% healing and regeneration |
| Autumn | +10% healing and regeneration, plus extra mana regeneration |
| Winter | +20% to damage spells and damage over time |
| Spring | +10% to damage spells and damage over time, plus extra mana regeneration |
Mantle of Summer and Mantle of Winter set the season for one hour, on a shared 20-minute cooldown. The seasonal spells Summer's Warmth and Winter's Chill arrive at level 8.
Druid spells. Damage comes from Ray of Sun, Swarm of Gnats, Burning Embers and Lightning Strike, an area spell that works only outdoors. Gust of Wind interrupts. Touch of Nature and Regeneration are also part of the core kit. Utility includes Speed of the Wild, Pack Speed, Wolf and Jackal Form, Charm Beasts, the Lull Beasts line, snares and roots. Charmed NPCs deal less damage since the Early Access patch.
Travel. Rings and circles take you to Evershade Weald and Sungreet Strand, and a port reaches Caves of Irem. Druids also keep Exodus and Sanctuary. Our map and zones guide shows where those places are.
Pets, quests and traits. The bear pet is gone, and Tree Form is planned to return as a quested spell. Since the release patch, Druids and Rangers forage cureberries and the summon spell is gone. A late-2025 update opened the Tracker trait to Druids. The developers have previewed a full traits revamp, but it is not in the game yet.
Shaman
The Shaman has the best physical buffs of any class and is known for its slow. It can also turn its own health into mana.
| Type | Shaman spells |
|---|---|
| Heals | Pact of Renewal (heal over time), Rite of Mending, Spirit Mending |
| Debuffs | Omen of Lethargy (the slow), Omen of Enfeeblement, Omen of Susceptibility |
| Buffs | Tribal Spirit (needs a Ritual Talisman), Berserker Spirit, Pact of Haste |
| Damage | Ghostly Blight, Malady, Spirit Bane |
| Utility | Consume (45-second cooldown), Ritual of Escape, Curing Ritual |
Since the release patch, Pact of Renewal ranks arrive four levels earlier. Shaman pets were removed. Aspect of the Bear is planned as a Shaman quest reward during Early Access. It was not in the launch build.
Group buffs: sources disagree. The Shaman deep dive says some group buffs come from research. The Early Access patch notes say most group buffs are now sold by spell vendors. We will update this once live play settles it.
Wisdom and healer stats
Wisdom is the healer stat. Beta Patch 6 (June 7, 2026) gave it a large heal scaling bonus, capped by your level. The balance patch of June 12, 2026 moved Cleric, Druid and Shaman ability damage from Intelligence to Wisdom.
Sitting mana regeneration uses the higher of Intelligence or Wisdom. The community wiki says Wisdom sets your mana pool when it is higher than your Intelligence. That comes from beta testing and is not confirmed. Clerics who off-tank should know that Block scales with Stamina. More in our stats guide.
Which races can play each healer
Nine races are playable in Early Access. Base Wisdom is from the community wiki (beta). Class modifiers and the points you place at creation come on top.
| Race | Cleric | Druid | Shaman | Base Wisdom |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Deep Elf | Yes | 17 | ||
| Deep Gnome | Yes | Yes | 14 | |
| Dwarf | Yes | 16 | ||
| Gnome | Yes | 15 | ||
| Goblin | Yes | Yes | 16 | |
| Halfling | Yes | Yes | 20 | |
| Human | Yes | Yes | Yes | 16 |
| Ogre | Yes | 15 | ||
| Wood Elf | Yes | Yes | 17 |
Humans can play every class, depending on where they start. Races planned for later modules bring more options: Deep Dwarf and High Elf Clerics, Troll Druids and Shamans, and eventually Var'nai Clerics and Shamans. See our races guide.
Your first steps as a healer
- Read your starting note. It sends you to your class guild master for an introductory quest chain, skill training and new scrolls.
- Hail NPCs (H) and answer with keywords in /say. Quests have no markers, so your journal (J) is your record.
- Scribe each scroll, then memorize it. You have 10 slots.
- Since the release patch, scrolls cost every class the same per five-level band. Levels 1 to 5 cost 4 silver 5 copper in total.
- At level 4, set a cantrip. Clerics, Druids and Shamans keep that one memorized spell through death. Everything else memorized is wiped, and your spellbook stays on your corpse.
More classes are in our classes overview.
Fill the healer seat for your guild's camps
The game is built so classes depend on each other, and experience comes fastest from camps in shared zones. On CoGM, the Monsters & Memories event form has a Camp preset with six seats, split by default into one tank, one healer, one support and three DPS. The event scheduler page shows how it works.
Post your guild's camps on CoGM with a healer seat, and members can sign up from Discord.
FAQ
Which healer is best for groups?
The Cleric. The developers treat it as the standard for healers. It wears heavy armor, can off-tank, and has Divine Aegis and the Redemption resurrection line. The Shaman brings the slow and the best physical buffs in the game instead.
Which healer solos best?
Of the three, the Druid. The developers call it one of the strongest solo classes in the game.
Do Shamans or Druids still have pets?
No. Both lost their pets in the class rework. A Shaman quest for Aspect of the Bear is planned during Early Access, and Druid Tree Form is planned to return as a quested spell.
What stat do healers need?
Wisdom. It gives a heal scaling bonus capped by level, and since June 2026 Cleric, Druid and Shaman damage scales off it too. Sitting mana regeneration uses the higher of Intelligence or Wisdom.
