BDO Setup Guide

After creating your community, the setup wizard walks you through Black Desert Online-specific configuration. This guide explains each step.

Setup wizard auto-import

If your guild is registered on GuildYapper, the setup wizard will automatically detect and import your roster. You can skip manual member entry.

The 12-step wizard

1

Select your region

Choose the BDO region your guild plays on: NA, EU, or SEA. This determines how CoGM handles family names, seasons, and events (node war schedules differ by region).

2

Import guild roster from GuildYapper

If your guild is on GuildYapper, enter your guild name and CoGM will fetch your member list. If not listed, you can manually add members later. The import pulls family names, character classes, and current roster status.

3

Configure sub-guilds

If your guild has sub-guilds (alts, siege reserve, etc.), add them here. Each sub-guild becomes a separate tab on the Roster page. For Vanguard, you might have "Vanguard" (main) and "Sentinel" (siege team).

4

Map Discord roles to member ranks

Link your Discord roles to CoGM ranks: Guild Master, Officer, Member, Reserve, Recruit. The bot will assign Discord roles when members upload gear or attend events.

5

Configure siege roles

Define your siege team composition. Choose which roles exist in your guild: Mainball, Flex, Cannon Team, Elephant Rider, Shai, Defense. Officers will assign these to members when planning sieges.

6

Set gear score threshold

Define the minimum gear score for siege and node war events. Your guild leadership sets these numbers. CoGM uses the thresholds to highlight members below target on the gear roster and track who's ready for each event type.

7

Import alliances

If your guild is part of an alliance, add the alliance name and member guilds. CoGM will track alliance events and coordination. If you're in "Iron Pact" with Mythril and Foxfire guilds, list them here.

8

Set up attendance tracking

Choose whether to track node war and siege attendance separately or together. Configure whether you want automatic DKP (Dragon Kill Points) calculation based on attendance.

9

Assign notification channels

Specify which Discord channels receive:

  • Guild announcements
  • Event notifications (siege, node war)
  • Gear upload confirmations
  • Application notifications
  • Audit logs
10

Configure applications

Set up the guild application system. Define required questions new members answer, minimum gear score for applications, and which officers review them.

11

Enable VOD review channel (optional)

If your officers record node war and siege VODs, create a VOD review channel where members can review footage and highlight plays.

12

Set bot name and avatar (optional)

Customize the bot's display name and avatar in your Discord server to match your guild theme. By default it's "CoGM Bot" with the CoGM logo.

You can re-run the setup wizard at any time from Guild Settings on the web dashboard. Changes take effect immediately.

After setup

Once the wizard completes, your guild is ready for:

  • Members uploading gear screenshots via /upload
  • Officers creating and managing node war and siege events
  • Tracking attendance and gear progression
  • Processing member applications

Next: upload gear

See the /upload command guide to start collecting gear data from your roster.
